Since its launch in June 2020, GateChain has been committed to building the industry’s leading eco and providing its users with features that they’ve never seen before.
This past year, the world became a tad bit more decentralized, experiencing the rise of DeFi and NFT’s, and witnessing the interplay of old and new forces in the blockchain industry.
Breakthroughs Never Stop
GateChain Mainnet 1.0 was released on the 8th of June, 2020 featuring novel levels of security, scalability, and interoperability. Afterwards, development was centered around smart contract support and further interoperability, in order for dapps to be built on top & deployed on GateChain:
-2021.1.27: Meteora on Testnet, the chain supporting the EVM smart contract module, was officially launched .
-2021.2.19: DeFi eco and Labs incubator program was launched, inviting everyone to participate in the eco’s development.
-2021.3.11: Meteora on Mainnet , the main network was upgraded to v1.0.7, officially supporting smart contracts and kickstarting the smart contract engine’s pressure test.
To date, the GateChain EVM module has undergone 66 days of stress testing on the mainnet, including the deployment and handling of various smart contracts.

Smart contracts on Ethereum, Cosmos, and more ecos can be deployed on GateChain at zero cost.
The new GateChain EVM module is a native feature, allowing users to transact with smart contracts without having to migrate assets across chains.
GateChain is fully compatible with Ethernet ecological products: MetaMask wallet, Remix and other development tools can be easily accessed, helping users to play Defi without stress.
4. Powered by GT
GateToken is used to pay for the gas fees when transacting in the GateChain eco.
5. Highly decentralized
You can participate in GateChain’s consensus by hosting a full node or by delegating your GT to one.
The consensus’ account balance does not need to be locked, and can be transferred in and out at any time, whilst never stopping to mine more GT.
6. Interoperability
GateBridge, a cross-chain tool bridging the gap between GateChain and ETH, Comos, BSC, and other ecos. Users can easily, quickly and securely transfer assets.
To support the official launch of GateChain EVM, HipoDefi has undergone a major upgrade. UI has been revamped and several features are now live, including swaps, liquidity mining, and cross-chain transactions, based on GateChain.
HipoSwap is a decentralized trading protocol similar to Uniswap and SushiSwap, and is completely open source. Users can connect to the GateChain mainnet on Hipo.com to use it.
Liquidity mining is also available, and DeFi players can mine in any liquidity pool on Hipo.com.
Cross-chain bridge, which supports cross-chain assets of ETH and GateChain, allows users to transfer ERC20 assets.
