Gate.io Token Administration Regulations
1. Project Assessment
Gate.io will keep track of the projects listed on the platform and assess projects based on their legitimacy, technology and security, market performance, general development progress and public opinion towards the project. The assessment details might vary according to the projects.
Below is a general overview of the assessment criteria. If the following issues are found, the project will be notified and be placed under investigation.
(1) Legitimacy
-Team and staff: the team, consultant, or staff of the project has significant legal issues, or has involved themselves in market manipulation.
-Project: the project has significant legal issues, or has involved themselves in scams such as pyramid schemes, etc.
(2)Technology and Security
- Code Audit: the code has not been audited by a third-party organization
- Security: the code is vulnerable to attacks and has security issues
(3)Market Performance
-Trading volume: the 30 Day Avg. trading volume of the token on Gate.io ranks at the bottom
-Price Movement: the price of token fluctuates against the market trend within a short period.
-Token Address: the information of token allocation and release schedule and its respective token addresses are not disclosed.
-Additional Issuance: the project does not inform the community/exchange about additional issuance in advance.
(4)General Development Progress
- Technical development: the repository is not regularly updated.
- Social Media: the social media account is not regularly updated and maintained.
- On-chain Data: the on-chain data does not stay active
- Significant Change: the project involves team reorganization, product pivot, etc.
(5)Public Opinion
-News Media: the project has too much negative media reporting about them
-User complaint: the project has received too many complaints from its users
2.Handling of Projects
Gate.io will contact projects that are confronted with the abovementioned issues and will handle the project following the regulations.
(1)Notification
After the assessment, Gate.io shall contact the projects and expect the project to respond within 2 weeks.
(2)Low Liquidity Trading Area Transfer
If the project fails to mitigate the issue, Gate.io will transfer the project to the Low Liquidity Trading Area directly. The projects are given 3 months for ratification.
(3)Regular Trading Area Transfer
When the project is traded in Low Liquidity Trading Area, the project can require a re-assessment from Gate.io. If the project passes the assessment and maintains to do so for 30 consecutive days, the project will be transferred back to the regular trading area.
