Gate Group Hosts Tokyo Event on Japan’s Web3 & Metaverse Future with Policymakers, Industry Leaders, and Students

Gate Learn, the free blockchain education platform of Gate Group, hosted a Web3 & Metaverse event in Tokyo, Japan, on May 27. The event explored the current and future Web3 and Metaverse landscape, with attendees exchanging knowledge and insight about blockchain developments shaping the future.

Hosted at the Shibuya CryptoBase, the event brought together guests ranging from local founders and CEOs to KOLs and government officials actively shaping blockchain and Web3 in Japan. In addition, over 200 local students interested in blockchain and crypto were invited to gain a grasp of the industry. Also, one of the notable attendees was Masaaki Taira (平将明), a Member of the Japanese House of Representatives who’s been both an advocate for Web3 technologies and played a key role in actively shaping Japan’s crypto policy.

The event opened with a presentation regarding current trends in the crypto industry, followed by presentations led by Masaaki Taira alongside Ameyumi, the CEO of RainbowChain, Takahiro Ishihama, the Founder of Yay!, Shinya Kiryu, Digital Entertainment Asset COO, and other influential local industry leaders to explain core concepts and technologies of Web3 and metaverse. Masaaki Taira also hosted a special session tailored for students pursuing blockchain careers to help them make sensible career choices.

The event concluded with Oculus Experience, sponsors’ booths touring, and open discussions among the presenters, students, and other attendees. They unanimously agreed that the event brought fresh perspectives and insightful ideas to the industry, and that Gate Group played a pivotal role in driving industry progress.
