Gate Charity and World Vision Partner to Aid Earthquake Reconstruction Efforts in Turkey
Gate Charity, the global non-profit blockchain charity organization of the crypto exchange Gate.io, announced that it has partnered with World Vision to support reconstruction efforts in Turkey and Syria following this year’s devastating earthquake. World Vision is an international humanitarian aid, development, and advocacy organization working to transform poverty and injustice faced by children, families, and communities.
Earlier this year, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck parts of Syria and Turkey, destroying homes, cities, and people’s livelihoods. Damage is estimated to be in excess of $100 billion, with more than 50,000 people losing their lives and over 120,000 left injured.
Gate Charity will financially support World Vision’s Turkey and Syria Appeal through a dedicated online cryptocurrency donation channel. The project aims to provide essential hygiene items to 400 earthquake-affected families (approximately 2,000 people) in Gaziantep, which will help improve health and hygiene conditions. These hygiene kits will contain baby hygiene products, soap, menstrual hygiene products, personal hygiene products and supplies, dental care products, body wash and any other items as advised by the World Vision hygiene team.
This project is part of World Vision’s global response to the disaster, which addresses priority needs such as access to clean water, sanitation, hygiene, health, shelter, and protection. Relief efforts will primarily focus on victims in the areas of Gaziantep and Sanliurfa in Turkey and Syria’s Azaz, Afrin, and Idlib regions.
